"That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." Col 2:2-3

This Page is For Our Dear Friend, BonnyGranny

March 16,1936~January 23,2002

Sometimes in lifes journey, you meet someone that really makes an impression on you...a difference in your life and the way you look at it. You look at them and say...WOW! Bonny is that kind of person. I have admired Bonny from the moment I "met" her. Her life and the way she handle it, her strength, her courage and sense of humor has been an inspiration to me. She's brought us into her home and life, and shared her family with us. We've laughed with her, we've cried with her and we've rejoiced with her. I met Bonny at the Kitchen Table a few years ago. Bonny shared her life with all of us there. She has a Grandson,Griff.(Click on his name to visit his website (made by RuthieG, another Kitchen Table regular) who quickly became our little mascot at the KT. Griff was born with Down's Syndrome, and later developed leukemia (also know as "Louie"). Through Bonny, we at the KT have been allowed to watch Griff grow and fight his battle with "Louie". Bonny posted pictures of Griff...we joined hands and Prayed for him...AND, we watched him BEAT "Louie"!! Finally, we could breathe a sigh of relief. Griff started school and we waited anxiously for Bonny to post his progress and accomplishments. All was well!! THEN, Bonny had to go in the hospital for gall bladder surgery in Novemeber. We looked forward to her recovery and seeing her post again at the Kitchen Table. BUT, when she posted.....it was to tell us that SHE now had "LOUIE"(Pancreatic Cancer)!!!

This candle is burning for my friend,Bonny Granny.

Angel Prayer

May the Angels keep you 'til morning.
May they guide you throught the night.
May they comfort all your sorrows.
May they help you win the fight.

May they keep watch on you soul.
May they show you better ways.
May they guard you while you're sleeping.
May they see you through your days.

May they show you new hopes.
May they still your every doubt.
May they calm your every fear.
May they hear you when you shout.

May the Angels keep you 'til morning.
More than this I cannot Pray.
And if the Angels ever fail you.
May God be there that day.

I'd like to share BonnyGrannys favorite quote with you. It speaks volumns about the kind of person she is!!

Do not keep the alabaster boxes of your love and tenderness sealed up until your friends are dead. Fill their lives with sweetness. Speak approving, cheering words while their ears can hear them and their hearts be thrilled by them.

~~Henry Ward Beecher~~

This poem was recently posted at the KT. The original poster said it reminded her of BonnyGranny.
Angels Online
There's a land where I go when I need to share,
that's not on a map, yet exists everywhere.
A land of names without faces, a curious place,
A modern creation that's called cyberspace.
There's all sorts of people with cute little names,
Like Pookie, and Sandman and Rosebud and Flames.
Some are just snobs and some are real fun.
And some of them just want to find someone.
But both good and bad they all play a role.
Still each one unique, but part of the whole.
We talk and laugh and wonder why,
We flirt and hug and sometimes we cry.
We can't be heard and can't be seen.
Yet, there it is, right on our screen.
But all in all the most curious part,
Is the power it has to open our heart.
To share with a stranger those things we've concealed,
Which to our closest of friends we'd never reveal.
Our deepest regrets and most troubling fears,
The scars in our life which bring us to tears.
What gives them the power to reach into me,
And show me the truths that I never see.
How do they manage to open my eyes,
And make me confess the deceit and the lies.
I don't understand this magical spell,
But I know that without it my life would be...bad!
This must have been planned by the Creator up above,
Cause there's no place on earth where you'll find as much love.
When I need direction I know I can find,
Those angels from Heaven just waiting online.

A friend of Bonny's....Jan Chamlee, asked that this poem be posted at the Kitchen Table for Bonny. I decided to add it here on Bonnys page.

HOW SHALL I MEASURE THE MORNING
How shall I measure the morning,
With the gloaming relaxing its hold,
With the dew diamond-like on the roses,
With the eastern sky glowing with gold,
While the night freshened air moves in rivulets,
Bearing perfume from new-opened flowers.
Ah, the dawn, fresh spring of renewal,
Re-endowing the soul with its powers!
But the morn is not only for beauty,
It’s a foretaste of opportune hours.
It’s a new day of cosmic adventure,
A vision viewed but from the towers.
It’s eternal potential encapsuled,
In the fleeting moments of time.
So the aspiring heart is enabled,
To accomplish a purpose sublime.
I shall measure the morn by its prospects,
For more than the beauty it brings.
It reopens before us the privilege,
Of serving the Lord of all things.
For He fashions all of the mornings,
He causes the new day to be.
Then fills it with hope and with promise,
Which faith at the dawning can see!
But many shall rise in the morning,
To another day burdened with cares.
For yesterday’s pain is persistent,
While vanished seem yesterday’s prayers.
They feel themselves mocked by the morning,
For soon comes the heat of the day.
Then anon the inexorable dimness,
With life itself slipping away.
For them, the light is like darkness,
The dawn an intrusion as well.
The notion that God engines nature,
Is nonsense—like heaven and hell.
Faithless, they move through the shadows,
Thinking not that last morn soon shall be.
When the life of the world is foreshortened,
At the dawn of Eternity.
Yes, there shall come a morning more lovely,
More beautifully scented than these!
It will be the morning celestial,
When all of the prospects shall please.
The light of that morn will be fadeless,
When we wake on Eternity’s shore.
With n’er ending day now before us,
With joys that shall be ever more!

Below is Bonnys favorite picture. It was sent to me today by a friend of hers that thought it should be added to Bonnys page. I agree. The picture is as beautiful as Bonny! The title of the picture is "My Sweet Rose" and the artist is John William Waterhouse.

This poem was sent to me by Jamaree (she will be joining us at the KT as soon as she gets her confirmation from Spike, the Webmaster).

A Prayer For Bonny
I said a prayer for you today,
And know God must have heard.
I felt the answer in my heart,
Although I heard no word.
I didn't ask for wealth or fame,
I knew you wouldn't mind,
I asked to send you treasures,
Of a far more lasting kind.
I asked that God be near you,
At the start of each new day.
To grant you peace and blessings,
And friends to share your way.
I asked for happiness for you,
In all things great and small.
But it was God's loving care for you,
That I prayed for most of all.

This poem (sent to me from Jenni, a member of the Kitchen Table) will be the final entry on Bonnys page. Bonnys journey ended today 1~23~02. I know in my heart that Bonny would want all of us to go on....to smile when we think of her. I can almost HEAR her telling us the words in this poem.

I want no man-made music,
when I am laid to rest.
No structured steeple filled with people,
grieving through the test.
Just place me in the forest,
When trees and grass are green.
And for my pillow, the pussy willow,
And air thats sweet and clean.
With sunbeams dancing gaily,
Across a woodland sea,
And soft warm sod, Hand tilled by God,
Is good enough for me.
With flowers in the springtime,
And crisp leaves in the fall,
Where the wind can whistle,
Through lavender thistle,
And moonbeams cover all.
Where the song of the meadowlark,
Or call of the whip-o-will,
Will do for a start,
To ease the heart,
Of he who remembers me still.
Or just release my ashes,
And set my spirit in motion,
I'll harness the breeze,
And go where I please,
Over mountains, meadow and ocean.
I'll ride the wind to the moon and stars,
And finally visit the sun,
I'll romp awhile,
On a desert isle,
My travels have only begun.
It's useless to tell you not to grieve,
Because I know you care.
Think not of death,
As a final breath...
It's a passport to everywhere.

Bonny.... If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane.
We'd walk right up to Heaven, and bring you home again.......
We Love You,Bonny!!

Bonnys friends at CraftPals asked me to add this poem in memory of Bonny.

~When We Lose A Friend We Love~

Lord, you gained an angel in Heaven there on high
when from earth a loving friend of ours did die.
We know nothing compares to the glory beyond Heaven's shores
and we know you rejoice when a loved one enters Heaven's doors.
Could you touch her family here and help them understand
there is no pain and heartache in such a place so grand.
She'll be watching up above with all of Heaven's throng
though all who love her dearly will hear the griever's song.
Help us to remember though life on earth passes away
time with You is eternal...when our soul is home to stay.
